The Congo Basin is clearly one of the hallmarks of the Congo: This extends from the Democratic Republic of the Congo into the eastern part of the Republic of the Congo. The Congo River, which is 4,374 kilometres long in total, runs like a long border strip between the two states, forming a 600-kilometre line there. But the Republic of Congo also has beaches and the sea. In the west of the country, there is a small inlet to the South Atlantic Ocean, which forms a picturesque backdrop with the Mayombe Mountains. With an average temperature of twenty-five degrees Celsius, a typical tropical climate awaits you here, characterized by the rainy seasons from January to May and October to December.
