Uganda Visa

For your trip to Uganda, you need a Visa.

There are different types of visas: If you want to travel to Uganda as a holidaymaker only, you need a tourist visa. If you want to combine several countries in East Africa, there are special East Africa visas.

Only in the rarest cases will you get the tourist visa directly at the airport in Uganda. We strongly recommend applying for the visa online in advance. The application is done via the E-Visa system of the government of Uganda. There you fill out a form with your personal information and your travel dates and pay a fee of currently 50 USD (as of May 2023). The processing time can take a few days, but it can also take a little more than a week. Therefore, we recommend applying early. You will receive the visa by email, which you will need to print out and show upon entry.

It is important to check the current visa requirements for Uganda before your trip, as the requirements may change. It is recommended that you allow sufficient time for your visa application and ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the expected date of your entry.
