With their wood and natural stone furnishings, Kyambura Gorge Lodge's cozy bungalows reflect traditional, regional construction methods. Along with a covered veranda overlooking the gorge and surrounding forests and floor-to-ceiling windows, the spacious accommodations present themselves as inviting retreats between safari activities. Whether in the four-poster bed covered with mosquito nets or in the bathroom with ground-level shower and running hot and cold water - here you do not have to do without anything. The typical thatched roofs not only look pretty, but also ensure an ideal indoor climate.

Culinary

Whether on the panorama terrace of the main house or at the fireplace in the outdoor area - at Kyambura Gorge Lodge, the meals together become a real experience. Taste local specialities prepared from fresh ingredients and enjoy a good glass of wine. In the morning, a high-energy breakfast awaits you after the first game drive of the day, in the afternoon, you can unwind with tea or coffee in the lounge with sofas and plan the next activities.

Activities

In addition to the aforementioned chimpanzee tracking tours, classic early morning and dusk game drives await you as guests of Kyambura Gorge Lodge. Look out for lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos and antelopes. Another highlight is the boat trips on the Kazinga Channel, which provides habitat for diverse bird species and numerous drinking and bathing spots for the park's resident wildlife. Away from the safari activities, you can look over the shoulders of the locals as they process freshly harvested coffee beans and taste the locally produced coffee and purchase it as a souvenir. Back at the camp, the outdoor pool with sun terrace invites you for a relaxing swim.

Location

With its convenient location in the scenic and species-rich Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura Gorge Lodge is the perfect accommodation for a variety of safari experiences. Parts of the lodge were lovingly restored from 2018 to 2019 - the new spa area provides relaxing moments after exciting game drives. Explore the Kyambura Gorge on tracks of the chimpanzee population settled here. The approximately 2-3 hour guided tours provide a wealth of information and let you discover the natural habitat of the chimpanzees under expert guidance.
