Sabyinyo Lodge
With panoramic views of the mist-shrouded treetops of the Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda, Sabyinyo Lodge welcomes you at an altitude of around 2,500 meters. With their mustard-yellow painted facades and flat tiled roofs, the 10 rustic cottages blend harmoniously into the green mountain landscape in the midst of the Virunga volcano massif. Follow in the footsteps of U.S. zoologist and primate researcher Dian Fossey to discover the nearby headquarters of the national park and set out on unforgettable gorilla trekking tours. The pristine natural idyll is also perfect for spotting exotic bird species and the playful golden monkeys that swing from treetop to treetop.

Location
With its spectacular location on the ridge of the extinct Sabinyo volcano, Sabyinyo Lodge offers breathtaking views of the dense bamboo forests and surrounding volcanic landscape. Only about 15 minutes separate you from the national park headquarters, which is especially convenient if you are heading out for early morning gorilla treks. If you are physically fit, you can also explore the mountains by mountain bike or on extended hikes, for example, to the volcanic craters or lakes. The Volcanoes National Park is also known for the work of the US explorer Dian Fossey. Her research station and her gravesite can also be visited.
